Job summary

Crescent Energy Finance LLC is seeking a Geotech to manage data and projects for Permian geoscience and asset teams in Houston. You will ensure data integration, quality, and provide reports to support daily oil & gas operations.

The role collaborates with technicians and analysts to maintain data across disciplines, supports GIS mapping, and helps prepare budgets and plans. A 5+ year background in oil & gas and Kingdom experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years oil & gas industry experience.
  • Experience with Kingdom is required and Petra preferred.
  • Experience supporting geophysical data management and data sources (IHS/Enverus/TGS).
  • Familiarity with public state and federal data in Texas and New Mexico.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and best workflow practices to geoscientists creating high-grade, drillable oil and gas opportunities.
  • Collaborate with technicians and analysts to ensure consistent data management across disciplines and asset teams.
  • Create and manage well and seismic projects with access to current data.
  • Import/export and QC seismic, well, and cultural data across applications and systems.
  • Navigate government and industry databases to provide high-quality data to geoscientists.
  • Support GIS applications and assist with map generation and spatial visualization.
  • Inform supervisor of progress and propose procedural improvements.
  • Maintain confidential record files for reference.
  • Coordinate collection and archiving of final well data.
  • Analyze data for reports and create log cross-sections.
  • Load digital log and map data; perform computations for geologists.

Position Overview

The Geotech will manage data and projects for the Permian geoscience and asset teams. The role ensures data integration across disciplines, maintains data quality, supports GIS mapping, and delivers reports and analysis to support technical work and daily oil & gas operations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and best workflow practices to geoscientists creating high‑grade, drillable oil and gas opportunities.
  • Collaborate with technicians and analysts to ensure consistent data management across disciplines and asset teams.
  • Create and manage well and seismic projects, ensuring staff access to current and accurate data.
  • Import/export and quality‑control seismic, well, and cultural data to and from various applications, syncing data across projects and systems.
  • Navigate government and industry databases to provide high‑quality data to geoscientists.
  • Support GIS applications, assisting teams with map generation and spatial data visualization.
  • Inform supervisor of progress and recommend procedural or operational improvements.
  • Establish and maintain highly confidential record files for reference use.
  • Order or download logs and other records.
  • Interact with operations to collect and archive final well data.
  • Accumulate and analyze data for reports, creating log cross‑sections.
  • Transfer and load digital log and map data.
  • Perform computations and calculations to assist geologists in analysis.
  • Assist geologists in preparing reports, plans, and budgets.
  • Ensure timely completion and accuracy of assigned projects.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of oil & gas industry experience.
  • Experience with Kingdom (required) and Petra (preferred) software packages.
  • Experience supporting geophysical data management.
  • Proficiency with O&G data sources such as IHS, Enverus, and TGS.
  • Familiarity with public state and federal data in Texas and New Mexico.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record that meet company insurance qualifications to operate a company vehicle.
Preferred
  • B.S./B.A. in mathematics, science, or a related field.
  • Significant experience with an E&P company engaged in unconventional resource development.
  • Proficiency in project and database management.
  • GIS knowledge and experience, specifically QGIS software.
  • Oil & gas data analysis and interpretation expertise.
  • Familiarity with Spotfire and/or Power BI.
  • Development planning and/or operations experience.
