Job summary

Xaira Therapeutics seeks a Research Associate / Senior Research Associate to join the Genomic Core focusing on next-generation sequencing (NGS). The role involves hands-on Illumina library prep, operating sequencers, and supporting single-cell workflows, collaborating with molecular biologists and computational scientists to generate high-quality sequencing data.

You will perform QC on nucleic acids and libraries, troubleshoot experimental issues, and help scale high-throughput sequencing

Qualifications

• 2+ years of laboratory experience in NGS workflows.
• Proficiency in Illumina library prep for DNA and RNA.
• Hands-on sequencer operation and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with 10x Genomics GEM-X and Flex is preferred.
• Experience with QC methods for nucleic acids and libraries.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sequencing libraries for Illumina platforms (e.g., TruSeq, Nextera, Amplicon).
• Operate and maintain Illumina sequencers (MiSeq, NextSeq, NovaSeq).
• Support single-cell workflows (10x Genomics GEM-X and Flex).
• Perform QC of input material and libraries (Bioanalyzer, TapeStation, Qubit, qPCR).
• Collaborate with internal teams to support project-specific NGS needs.
• Troubleshoot experimental issues and optimize protocols and workflows.
• Develop and optimize NGS protocols and scalable high-throughput pipelines.
• Contribute to scalable cloning and viral production pipelines.
• Maintain detailed ELN records for reproducibility and compliance.
• Participate in group meetings and communicate progress and insights.
• Run analysis pipelines (e.g., bcl2fastq, CellRanger).
