Job summary

Xaira Therapeutics in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Research Associate / Senior Research Associate to join the Genomic Core, focusing on next-generation sequencing (NGS). You will perform Illumina-based library preparation, operate MiSeq/NextSeq/NovaSeq, and contribute to single-cell workflows and data QC.

You will collaborate with molecular biologists and computational scientists to generate high-quality sequencing data, optimize workflows, document results in ELN, and help scale

Qualifications

• B.S./M.S. in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Biotechnology, or related field with 2+ years of lab experience, including NGS workflows.
• Proficiency in Illumina library prep methods for DNA/RNA and sequencing basics.
• Hands-on Illumina sequencer operation and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with single-cell workflows (10x Genomics GEM-X) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality sequencing libraries for Illumina platforms.
• Operate and maintain Illumina sequencers (MiSeq/NextSeq/NovaSeq).
• Support single-cell workflows and QC of input material and libraries.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support NGS needs and workflows.
• Troubleshoot issues and optimize protocols and pipelines.
• Document results meticulously and contribute to scalable sequencing pipelines.
