Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is seeking a Manager, Research and Development for the Integrated Genomics Operation to lead the R&D group and guide the development of cutting-edge genomic assays.

You will supervise technicians, design and optimize high-throughput genomics workflows, and ensure rigorous documentation while partnering with production teams and internal stakeholders to translate assays from concept to scalable services in a fast-paced cancer research environment.

Formación

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral experience in an academic research environment.
• Hands-on experience with experimental and computational genomics methodologies.
• Strong publication record in NGS assay development.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead IGO’s R&D group and supervise technicians focused on testing and developing new genomics technologies.
• Design, evaluate, and optimize novel assays, including feasibility assessments and protocol development.
• Maintain detailed experimental records, technical documentation, and written summaries of research activities.
• Identify anomalies in experimental data and resolve root causes through systematic troubleshooting.
• Partner with IGO production teams to transition validated assays into efficient, high-throughput services.
• Mentor team members, evaluate performance, and provide timely feedback.
• Communicate scientific concepts clearly in lab meetings, cross-functional forums, and seminars.
• Contribute creatively to problem-solving while considering operational and business aspects of a core facility.
