Job Description:

Cape Fox subsidiary Eagle Health, LLC is accepting resumes for a Genomics Laboratory Technician - Functional Capabilities to support the members at Ft. Detrick, Maryland. This position is contingent upon contract award.

The salary range (or hiring range) for this exempt position is $75,000-$84,000.

The above salary range is the company's good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. We also offer benefits such as holidays, paid time off, health, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, and a 401K with company match. The position will be posted until filled or withdrawn.

Responsibilities:

• Provide laboratory support for CGS functional capabilities, including nucleic acid extraction, sequencing library preparation, quality assessment testing, and sequencing on Illumina, Oxford Nanopore, and PacBio platforms. Perform experiments and protocols under supervision, with hands-on involvement in high-throughput sequencing, PCR, and sample processing.
• Sequence viral, bacterial, and eukaryotic genomes, manage BSL-2 laboratory workspace, and oversee assay development and sample processing for high-throughput sequencing, including library preparation for PacBio platforms. Handle approximately 400 samples per year and ensure laboratory safety compliance.
• Manage chemical reagent inventory, safety training records, and maintain compliance with USAMRIID safety requirements. Provide safety reports monthly.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, SOPs, and publication materials. Deliver technical knowledge presentations annually to lab members.
• Communicate data, issues, and support needs with the PI or TPOC. Liaise with vendors for technical support.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and sample processing workflows in the Laboratory Information Management System, adhering to SOPs.
• Perform high-throughput sequencing library preparations for Illumina platforms, handling approximately 1500 samples annually. Cross-train and mentor junior technicians as needed.
• Participate in meetings, training, and potentially travel within the US or internationally 1-2 times per year to support biosurveillance and training missions.
