Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is expanding its Genomic Medical Laboratory team to support the NGS initiative in oncology diagnostics at the Clinical Pathology Department. The Genomic Medical Laboratory Scientist 1 will help establish testing, data analysis and reporting protocols ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• B.S./B.A. in laboratory science or medical technology.
• Successful completion of a clinical laboratory medicine rotation, practicum, or equivalent clinical lab experience.
• Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access).

Responsibilities

• Perform nucleic acid extraction, PCR, library preparation, sequencing workflow executions and analysis.
• Perform start-up, quality control, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting on instruments and lab equipment.
• Manage inventory and ensure supplies for daily operation and testing.
• Assist in validation and implementation of NGS-based assays; contribute to quality assurance projects.
