Job summary

NC State University’s Genome Editing Center seeks a Senior Research Scholar to provide scientific leadership in molecular biology, genome engineering, and bioinformatics. You will guide genome editing across crop species, develop high-throughput strategies, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the College.

The role requires a Ph.D. with 5+ years of experience, strong leadership, and a track record of publications and sponsored research.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. and 5+ years research experience in molecular biology and genome engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of molecular biology and genome editing techniques.
• Ability to independently lead complex research activities, interpret data, and mentor research personnel.

Responsibilities

• Lead genome editing research across crop species and design guides.
• Develop genome editing protocols, sequencing strategies, and SOPs.
• Provide scientific leadership and mentorship to Ph.D. researchers and postdocs.
