Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a Healthcare Science Practitioner Specialist (Technical) to join the Laboratory Genetics team at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. You will perform complex genetic investigations and support delivery of diagnostic services across Scotland.

Qualifications

• Degree in biological science with high honours.
• Postgraduate experience in genetics lab or diagnostic service preferred.
• Experience with genetic diagnostic techniques, lab equipment and software applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex genetic laboratory investigations using specialised techniques and equipment.
• Process patient specimens and maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Analyse genetic test data and prepare reports for authorisation.
• Supervise technical work areas including extraction, sequencing, genotyping and FISH.
