Job summary

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Boonshoft School of Medicine (BSOM), Wright State University, invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in human genetics or genomics. The role combines education leadership with development of an externally funded research program in molecular genetics or pharmacogenomics.

The successful candidate will coordinate genetics instruction across the BSOM Wright Curriculum,

Qualifications

Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree.
Evidence of scholarly productivity appropriate to career stage (peer‑reviewed publications).
Excellent oral and written communication as well as interpersonal skills.
Five (5) years’ experience as an Assistant Professor with an exemplary scholarly portfolio, successful mentoring, and evidence of extramural funding.

Responsibilities

40% – Teaching and Curriculum Leadership: coordinate and deliver instruction in human genetics across foundational phases of the medical curriculum.
40% – Research and Scholarly Activity: establish or maintain an active, externally funded research program in molecular genetics, genomics, pharmacogenomics, or related fields.
10% – Educational and Student Mentorship: participate in educational initiatives and mentor students in research.
10% – Institutional and Departmental Service: participate in committees and governance; contribute to admissions and curriculum development.
