Job summary

START Center seeks a Genetic Program Assistant for the High Risk Breast Program to coordinate patient care, manage genetic testing workflows, and support clinical staff. You will maintain records, prepare charts, and liaise with patients and laboratories to ensure timely service delivery.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, with a bachelor’s degree preferred, and at least one year of healthcare or oncology exposure.

Qualifications

• 1 year of healthcare, medical office, oncology, genetics, or patient navigation experience preferred.
• Experience coordinating patient care and working within an EMR system preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling of patient appointments, follow-ups, and genetic counseling sessions.
• Assist with patient forms, family history questionnaires, and consent documentation.
• Facilitate genetic testing workflows including test ordering and specimen tracking.
• Maintain patient records and program databases with HIPAA compliance.
• Communicate with patients, clinicians, laboratories, and referring physicians.
