Job summary

The Ohio State University Division of Human Genetics is seeking a Genetic Counselor for a clinician educator role to co-direct our Genetic Counseling Graduate Program. You will help shape program strategy, oversee admissions, and ensure ongoing fiscal stability while leading teaching and clinical activities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling or equivalent required.
• Current board certification in genetic counseling.
• Minimum of five years experience in genetic counseling.
• In-depth knowledge of the profession and practice.
• Demonstrated leadership experience relevant to program oversight.
• Experience as instructor for at least two post-secondary courses.
• Completed at least 10 hours of curriculum design/DEIJ training within last ten years.
• Ongoing commitment to curriculum design and DEIJ training, including at least one hour annually.

Responsibilities

• Maintain program compliance with Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC) standards.
• Develop, review, and modify the program’s strategic plan, including mission, vision, goals, and philosophy.
• Oversee admissions processes and admission criteria.
• Ensure long-term fiscal stability and year-round program administration.
• Collaborate with division director and College of Medicine leadership on communication with students and faculty.
• Participate in clinical genetic services within the hospital and clinic settings.
• Teach graduate students, medical students, residents, and fellows in genetic counseling.
• Engage in translational genetics research and related scholarly activities.
