Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking an engineer to support the design of generator windings for hydro projects across regions. You will provide technical support to design engineers, supply chain and site installation teams on winding topics.

The role emphasizes delivering design work packages, assisting with insulation systems, and leading cost‑reduction actions while collaborating with cross‑functional teams and external consultants to ensure robust winding designs and qualification of tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in hydro generator winding design and insulation systems.

Responsibilities

• Deliver design work packages for generator windings using guidelines and reference projects.
• Provide technical support to factories, supply chain and site teams on winding topics and insulation systems during the lifecycle of the projects.
• Lead cost reduction and improvement actions related to generator windings.
• Participate to validation of winding design tools updates.
• Participate to design review meetings with other engineers, functions and consulting Engineers.
• Support other engineers on topics related to generator winding design, testing specifications and customer discussions.

Job Description Summary

The worker will be responsible to support the design of generator windings for new and refurbishment hydro projects across different regions. He/she will also be responsible to provide technical support to design engineers, supply chain and site installation teams related to generator winding topics.

Job Description

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

• Deliver design work packages for generator windings using technical guidelines and reference projects
• Provide technical support to factories, supply chain and site teams on winding topics and insulation systems during the entire lifecycle of the projects.
• Lead cost reduction and improvement actions related to generator windings.
• Participate to validation of winding design tools updates.
• Participate to design review meetings with other engineers, functions and consulting Engineers.
• Support other engineers on topics related to generator winding design, testing specifications and customer discussions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in hydro generator winding design and insulation systems.

Preferred Qualifications/Characteristics:

• Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-locational environment;

#LI-Remote - This is a remote position For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $120,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
