Job summary

Generac Power Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled Generator Technician to join our service team in Maryland.

The successful candidate will install, maintain, and repair generators to ensure reliable power supply for our clients, working with a focus on safety and quality. Responsibilities include routine generator maintenance, diagnosing and repairing faults, replacing parts, testing repairs, and documenting service reports.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and ability to read technical schematics.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Able to lift up to 50+ lbs and work in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on generators, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot generator malfunctions and failures.
• Replace or repair defective parts and components as needed.
• Test and verify repairs to ensure proper operation.
• Conduct regular inspections of generators and associated systems to identify issues or safety hazards.
• Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports and recommendations.
• Offer recommendations for upgrades or replacements as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
• Complete and submit service reports in a timely manner.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergency repairs.
• Communicate with inside staff regarding the status of work orders.
