Job summary

VoltaGrid is seeking a Generator Technician / Heavy Duty Mechanic to diagnose and repair natural gas generators. The role involves testing, adjusting breaker settings, and proactively inspecting equipment to improve reliability.

The candidate should have 5+ years in power generation, experience with natural gas engines, and the ability to read electrical schematics. This on-site position requires a strong work ethic and the capacity to work in a team or independently.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relatable experience in power generation or heavy-duty equipment.
• Experience with natural gas engines and generators (Caterpillar/Jenbacher preferred).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Proven troubleshooting and repair skills for generator systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair natural gas generators.
• Verify and adjust breaker settings per job requirements.
• Inspect and recommend repairs to increase generator reliability.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose power generation equipment including AC/DC controls.
• Train and mentor fellow technicians on troubleshooting and repairs.
