Job summary

Energy Systems, a Generac Industrial Distributor, seeks a Field Service Technician to service and repair Generac generators at customer sites in the Marlboro, NY area. You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, read schematics, and perform preventive maintenance.

This role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and 1 year of mechanical experience; an associate degree is preferred. After-hours work may be required, with clear reporting to the service manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of mechanical experience.
• Valid driver license required.
• Ability to obtain Generac certification in air-cooled and protector series.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair of generators.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs after hours, weekends and holidays as directed.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance service and/or repairs of generators.
• Read and interpret operation manuals, electrical schematics, generator literature, and work orders.
• Detect faulty operations, report them to the service manager in a timely manner.
• Stay current on NFPA and state regulations for Emergency Power Supply Systems.
• Create reports for all work performed in FieldServio.
• Communicate report findings by phone, email, and in person.
