Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Generator Technician in Tysons, VA. The role focuses on maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting generator systems and critical infrastructure equipment, including diesel generators and IC engines.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, load testing, ATS work, and safety-compliant repairs for high-profile facilities. Candidates should have 2+ years in related fields, strong electrical/mechanical understanding, and the ability to lift, climb, and work at

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years’ experience supporting large buildings, industrial facilities, or critical infrastructure.
• 2+ years hands-on experience with complex diesel power systems, including DRUPS units.
• HS Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assist and participate in routine inspections and modify IC engines, diesel generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on ATS and annunciator panels.
• Conduct load testing and identify potential problems to prevent wet stacking.
• Make electrical and mechanical wiring modifications to diesel control circuits.
• Rebuild and repair components such as gas compressors and related hardware.
• Execute automatic and manual transfer tests to verify proper operation.
• Test batteries, fuel system, coolant, and oil; ship oil samples for analysis.
• Transport and dispose hazardous materials.
