The Generator Technician Apprentice is a hybrid position designed to develop the skills required to become both a highly qualified Generator Technician and a licensed Journeyman Electrician. This role combines hands‑on generator installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair with residential electrical apprenticeship training under the supervision of licensed electricians and experienced generator technicians. This position provides a clear career pathway toward becoming a licensed Journeyman Electrician while building specialized expertise in generator systems and backup power solutions.
Integrity: Follow safety policies, codes, manufacturer specifications, maintain records and report concerns. People: Work with electricians and generator technicians, attend training, communicate professionally. Partnership: Support project teams and customer relationships. Attitude: Demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and commitment to growth. Excellence: Assist with generator installations, residential electrical work, maintenance, troubleshooting, schematics, and tool usage. Stewardship: Maintain tools, vehicles, equipment, and worksites responsibly.
Completion of apprenticeship milestones; Progress toward licensure; Quality of work; Safety compliance; Customer satisfaction; Documentation accuracy.
Work indoors and outdoors, climb ladders, use tools, lift up to 80 pounds, travel to job sites, and wear required PPE.
