Adams, Inc. in Wisconsin is offering a hybrid Generator Technician Apprentice role designed to grow you into a licensed Journeyman Electrician while you learn generator systems.

You will install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair generators and receive residential electrical apprenticeship training under licensed electricians. This path leads toward licensure and specialized backup power expertise.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies, codes and manufacturer specifications; maintain records and report concerns.

• Assist with generator installations, residential electrical work, maintenance, troubleshooting, and use of schematics and tools.
• Maintain tools, vehicles and worksites responsibly.

Job Purpose

The Generator Technician Apprentice is a hybrid position designed to develop the skills required to become both a highly qualified Generator Technician and a licensed Journeyman Electrician. This role combines hands‑on generator installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair with residential electrical apprenticeship training under the supervision of licensed electricians and experienced generator technicians. This position provides a clear career pathway toward becoming a licensed Journeyman Electrician while building specialized expertise in generator systems and backup power solutions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Mechanical aptitude, interest in electrical systems and generators, ability to use tools safely, communication skills, and desire to pursue Journeyman Electrician licensure.

Working Conditions

Work indoors and outdoors, climb ladders, use tools, lift up to 80 pounds, travel to job sites, and wear required PPE.
