The role focuses on installing transfer switches and residential electrical work for home standby generator installations. We value applicants with 3+ years of electrical experience, the ability to sit for the Wisconsin Residential Journeyman Electrician exam within 30 days of hire, and a commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of approved electrical experience and 3,000 documented hours.
• Eligible to sit for Wisconsin Residential Journeyman Electrician Examination within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to provide documentation of qualifying electrical experience and hours.
• Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift 70+ pounds and work safely from ladders.

Responsibilities

• Install residential transfer switches and related electrical components for standby generators.
• Perform electrical service upgrades, panel work, conduit installation and branch circuit changes.
• Troubleshoot generator systems and verify proper operation of transfer equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams and installation instructions.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners and team members during installation.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.

Adams, Inc. is growing, and we're looking for motivated electricians to join our Home Backup Power team in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. This position focuses primarily on installing transfer switches and completing residential electrical work associated with home standby generator installations.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced electricians, Residential Journeyman Electricians, and advanced electrical apprentices looking for immediate career advancement. Compensation

$30.00 - $40.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, licensing, and overall electrical background.

Schedule

Schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, First Shift, with occasional overtime and weekend work based on customer demand and installation schedules.

Position Responsibilities

• Install residential transfer switches and associated electrical components for standby generator systems.
• Perform electrical service upgrades, panel work, conduit installation, and branch circuit modifications as required.

• Read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and installation instructions.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes and safety standards.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 3 years of approved electrical experience and at least 3,000 documented electrical work hours.
• Must be eligible to legally sit for the Wisconsin Residential Journeyman Electrician Examination within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to provide documentation of qualifying electrical experience and hours.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 70+ pounds and safely work from ladders and other jobsite equipment.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred

• Wisconsin Residential Journeyman Electrician License.
• Wisconsin Journeyman Electrician License.
• 3rd or 4th year electrical apprentice currently enrolled in an approved apprenticeship program.
• Experience with residential service work, panel changes, transfer switches, generators, or standby power systems.

Strongly Encouraged to Apply

Current 3rd and 4th year electrical apprentices who can demonstrate at least 3,000 hours and 3 years of qualifying electrical experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified candidates may have the opportunity to continue their electrical education through an accredited apprenticeship program, including potential participation with ABC of Wisconsin.
