Central Power Systems & Services seeks a skilled Critical Power Technician to service emergency power systems, including generators, transfer switches, and switchgear. The role involves field work with potential overtime, and a path to growth as skills expand.

Qualifications

• 2 years of higher voltage generator maintenance experience (CAT, Kohler, Cummins).
• Electrical and mechanical knowledge of diesel-powered generators.
• Diagnostic skills for generators, switchgear and related equipment.
• 3+ years generator maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Install, start-up, and commission critical power systems.
• Diagnose and repair gensets, PLCs, AC/DC, and switchgear.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on generators and transfer switches.
• Coordinate with installing contractors and troubleshoot commissioning issues.
• Travel to field sites and support mining customers.

We are looking for a Critical Power Technician to help support that mission.Job SummaryWe service all brands of emergency standby generators, as well as automatic transfer switches, switchgear, and other related accessories. The normal working shift is 7AM to 4PM. However, with field service, the opportunity for overtime is common. A candidate should be willing and able to work overtime as needed. Once a technician has proved capable of working in the field solo, they will be part of our rotating after-hours on-call calendar.Ideally, we are looking for candidates who have some degree of prior experience with generator sets, diesel & gaseous engines, and industrial / commercial electrical distribution.
