Job summary

Generac's dealer network in Texas is seeking a generator service technician to perform preventative maintenance and diagnose electrical/mechanical issues on home standby generators. You will install hookups, perform repairs, and assist with after-hours emergencies.

Independent work or small crew, valid driver’s license, and ability to lift 50 lbs are required. This position is with an independent channel partner and not employment directly with Generac Power Systems, Inc.; equal opportunity

Qualifications

• Two or more years working on generators in residential or commercial settings.
• Air/ liquid cooled certificate preferred (Generac, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton, Cummins, etc.).
• Small engine repairs and basic electrical knowledge required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and hold a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on generators.
• Diagnostics and repairs of mechanical and electrical systems on generators.
• Service/repair generators, change air filters, oil, battery levels, spark plugs, etc.

What You’ll Do

• Perform preventative maintenance on generators
• Diagnostics and repairs of mechanical and electrical systems on generators
• Service/repair generators, change air filters, change oil, check battery levels, check spark plugs, etc.
• Involved in installation hook-up of home standby generators
• When necessary, provide after-hour emergency troubleshooting/repairs
• Work independently or with a small crew

What You’ll Bring

• 2+ years working on generators in the residential or commercial setting
