Job summary

Cooper Electric Supply, LLC is seeking a maintenance and/or service mechanic to join our field operations. You will travel to customer sites to diagnose, repair and service power generation equipment, and ensure timely completion of routines while maintaining vehicle and equipment inventories.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills and interpersonal communication abilities.
• 5+ years' experience as maintenance and/or service mechanic.
• Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of power generation equipment and/or diesel engine experience.
• Intermediate computer literacy.
• A valid driver license.

Responsibilities

• Make service calls to customers and keep both customers and dispatchers informed of progress on jobs.
• Process paperwork and maintain housekeeping in service truck and at customer property.
• Provide mechanical and electrical repairs of power generation systems.
• Effectively diagnose, repair, adjust and recondition diesel, natural gas and liquid propane engine driven generator sets.
• Perform scheduled service and troubleshooting tasks on customer generators.
• Take necessary action to prevent or limit failure to optimize efficiency.
• Maintain truck inventory.
• Ensure scheduled service activities are performed correctly and on time.
• Identify potential problems ahead of time and proactively implement solutions.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• The ability to sit, stand, and walk for the full length of the assigned shift.
• The ability to lift, push, and pull material and objects weighing up to 50 lbs. and heavier weights with proper equipment.
• The ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climbto perform various duties.

Salary Range: Based on experience, $25-$40/ hour

Work Hours: Mon - Fri, Floating On Call hours.
