Cooper Electric Supply, LLC in Ocean, NJ is seeking a skilled maintenance and service mechanic to join our on-site field team, delivering reliable service to contractors and commercial customers. You will diagnose and repair diesel, natural gas, and LPG generator sets, perform scheduled service, take proactive measures to prevent failures, and maintain truck inventory.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• 5+ years of experience as a maintenance and/or service mechanic.
• Experience with maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of power generation equipment and/or diesel engines.
• Intermediate computer literacy.
• Valid driver license.

Responsabilités

• Make service calls and keep customers and dispatchers informed of progress.
• Process paperwork and maintain housekeeping in service truck and at customer property.
• Provide mechanical and electrical repairs of power generation systems.
• Diagnose, repair, adjust and recondition diesel, natural gas and liquid propane engine-driven generator sets.
• Perform scheduled service and troubleshooting on customer generators.
• Take action to prevent or limit failure to optimize efficiency.
• Maintain truck inventory.
• Ensure scheduled service activities are performed correctly and on time.
• Identify potential problems ahead of time and proactively implement solutions.

What you will do:

What you will bring:

• Strong customer service skills and inter-personal communication skills
• 5 + years' experience as maintenance and/or service mechanic
• Experience in performing maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of power generation equipment and/or diesel engine experience.
• Intermediate computer literacy
• A valid driver license

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• The ability to sit, stand, and walk for the full length of the assigned shift.
• The ability to lift, push, and pull material and objects weighing up to 50 lbs. and heavier weights with proper equipment.
• The ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climbto perform various duties.

Salary Range: Based on experience,$25-$40/ hour

Location: Ocean, NJ

Work Hours: Mon - Fri, Floating On Call hours.
