Job summary

Generator Supercenter of Salt Lake City is seeking a Service Technician to plan routes with the Service Manager, travel to residential sites using a company vehicle, and perform repair and preventative maintenance on whole home standby generators. You will read manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints while updating the service software with detailed notes on services performed.

Typical schedule is Mon-Fri, 8 AM–5 PM, with adjustments for weather or customer needs; pay is commensurate with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; electrical certification a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Problem-solving, organization, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative.
• Physically able to perform job duties including bending, stooping, climbing ladders, pulling, grasping, and walking on uneven surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Technicians will be provided with a daily workload of service/maintenance calls to perform on the Generac generators.
• Ability to drive company vehicles safely to/from customer’s residence within and surrounding area / job site.
• Communicate directly with customers regarding arrival, work being performed, issues resolved, etc.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on the customer’s home generator.
• Follow technical instruction manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and procedures.
• Test, troubleshoot, and operate automatic transfer switches.
• Document services that are performed using an electronic software system.
• Adhere to all safety practices and requirements.
• Fill out all paperwork and document maintenance work that was completed.
• Qualified technicians will perform diagnostics and repairs on backup power systems.
