Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to define and lead the Generative AI strategy for Global Markets Regulatory Reporting Operations Technology. The role focuses on scalable, high-performance engineering, improving design, quality, and reuse of AI-enabled solutions.

You will guide technical enablers, oversee multi-team features, and drive innovative tech choices. The role requires 10+ years in engineering, strong ML/AI experience, and deep Python/REST API expertise.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience in Machine Learning, Data Analytics, AI.
• Experience implementing Generative AI solutions.
• Knowledge of Generative AI and machine learning frameworks, products, and tools for agentic solutions.
• Extensive experience in designing & implementing multi-tier (including microservices) application platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, including object-oriented techniques, and REST API development.
• In-depth knowledge of databases, large structured & unstructured dataset processing, and messaging.
• Proven ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders to drive technology strategy and align with organizational goals.
• A self-starter attitude quickly adapts to new technologies and industry trends.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work independently and in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Develops the engineering approach for the entire program/portfolio solution and works with Architecture, to develop/analyze/deliver the implementation of technical enablers.
• Leads the planning, definition, and design of the complex features which span multiple teams and explore solution alternatives.
• Creates ideas on designing complex technology and solution development approaches.
• Leads the technical oversight for teams in solution development including design reviews and code within own domain.
• Defines the technology tool stack for the solution within ranged of internally approved and supported technologies.
• Explores state-of-the-art technologies to improve development efficiencies, quality of test/QA coverage, and release management.
• Leads and is responsible for the end-to-end test strategy/creation/adherence, and the integration between teams for a program/portfolio solution.
• Partner with Global Markets GenAI Technology team to promote and implement the banks Generative AI tools across teams within Regulatory Reporting.
