Job summary

The Plymouth Rock Company is seeking an AI Engineer to design and deploy Generative and Agentic AI systems that transform how we operate and serve customers. This Boston-based role focuses on LLM architectures, RAG, MCP servers, and Agentic AI across enterprise and customer-facing use cases.

You will work with technology, data, and business teams to build scalable AI solutions that drive efficiency and innovation, including agents, MCP platforms, and AI-powered workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, ML, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
• 2+ years of software engineering experience with ML/AI systems.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications in production.
• Strong programming in Python and AI/ML packages (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, scikit-learn).
• Experience with LLM ecosystems (OpenAI/Anthropic/Google, Hugging Face).
• Experience building RAG pipelines and vector databases.
• Understanding of prompt engineering, embeddings, and model evaluation.
• Experience building APIs, MCPs, and scalable backend services.
• Experience with Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, or similar.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Passion for technology and AI.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy scalable LLM-powered applications for customer support and internal use.
• Develop AI agents and agentic platforms capable of reasoning and executing multi-step workflows.
• Implement RAG architectures to leverage proprietary data and knowledge bases.
• Build MCP servers and multi-modal Agentic platforms and AI assistants for internal teams and customers.
• Integrate AI/ML solutions with enterprise systems and data platforms.
• Design prompt strategies, evaluation frameworks, and guardrails for accuracy and compliance.
• Optimize LLM performance with fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and orchestration.
• Develop MLOps/LLMOps pipelines for monitoring and improvement.
• Support buy/build decisions with vendors and internal teams.
• Stay updated on AI/ML advancements and agentic frameworks.
