Universal Orlando Resort invites an experienced HR Business Partner/Employee Relations professional to support leadership and hourly Team Members at the Frisco (TX) location. You will advise on discipline, performance, and HR processes, coordinating with Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Benefits, and other HR units to resolve issues and drive positive employee relations.

This role represents the face of HR to Team Members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, IR, Business Management, or related field.
  • 3+ years HR experience in HRBP or Employee Relations.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience with SAP and MS Office.
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee relations issues.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with managers on discipline and performance issues, investigates workplace situations, and supports fair coaching and counseling.
  • Interacts with Guests and Team Members to promote positive relations and address concerns.
  • Reviews performance appraisals and counseling records, ensuring legal and consistent communications; supports accommodation decisions.
  • Manages HR processes and special projects (Open Door, staffing support, job descriptions, talent reviews).
  • Provides guidance on benefits, payroll questions, policies, and onboarding plans within division growth.

Job Summary

Provides HR counsel and support to leadership and hourly Team Members, with heavy emphasis on maintaining positive employee relations. Supports the execution of human resources activities related to reporting, communication, analysis, placement, and overall HR guidance for assigned client groups. Serves as a liaison with other HR departments across Universal Kids Resort (UKR) and Universal Destinations and Experiences (UDX) including Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Organizational Development, Payroll and Benefits, Compensation, Open Door and any other relevant UDX Centers of Excellence to manage and resolve issues as well as assist with HR process coordination. Represents the ‘face of HR’ to Team Members.

Major Responsibilities
  • Consults with Managers and Supervisors regarding Team Member discipline and performance issues. Investigates employee workplace situations, up to claims of harassment, discrimination, policy violations and employee conflicts. Supports decision‑making related to terminations and other forms of discipline. Ensures that corrective Team Member coaching and counseling are handled in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Provides support to Team Members by interacting and communicating with Guests and Team Members across the resort, visiting break rooms and offices to promote positive relations and seek out potential issues.
  • Supports the process involved in reviewing Performance Reviews, Team Member Counselings, and Performance plans. Ensures that any written communication directed to Team Members is legal, fair, consistent, in line with UDX values, and follows the progressive discipline policy where applicable. Provides input and drives dialogue regarding Team Member Reasonable Accommodation requests/decisions.
  • Manages and monitors annual HR processes and special project initiatives and follows up as needed. This includes but is not limited to: Open Door Plus Appeals, Wardrobe, Recognition Events, Town Hall events, Team Member satisfaction (TSAT) meetings, HR Roundtable presentations, Peer Review preparation, Position Management reviews, work authorization expiration notifications, No Pay Report follow-up, Average Hours report, job descriptions, talent review and staffing assistance for job fairs.
  • Provides advice and consultation for Team Members regarding benefits, payroll questions, policy interpretations, and EAP issues. Provides direction for internal transfer and career path direction including on‑boarding plans, within division seasonal growth opportunities, and related follow‑up paperwork.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Management, or related field required.
Experience
  • 3+ years Human Resources experience in an HRBP or Employee Relations role in a large‑scale fast‑paced HR environment required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
