Job summary

Jobtailor in New York, NY seeks an experienced HR partner to lead employee relations, performance management, recruitment, compensation, and talent management across multiple brands and North American markets. You will own end-to-end investigations, coach leaders, interpret policies, manage onboarding through offboarding, coordinate HR projects, and maintain HRIS data with accuracy.

Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of progressive HR experience with independent ownership of employee-relations investigations.
  • Retail or luxury retail/fashion experience strongly preferred.
  • Comfort operating across multiple brands and North American markets (US/Canada/Mexico).
  • Strong working knowledge of HRIS systems (Workday/ADP/SuccessFactors).
  • Excellent documentation for case files and confidential material.
  • Solid employment-law knowledge across markets supported.
  • Able to apply HR policy independently and handle sensitive matters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word/PowerPoint/Excel).
  • Experience coaching and leading investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide broad HR partnership across employee relations, performance management, recruitment, compensation, and talent management.
  • Independently lead ER meetings and cases end-to-end, including investigations and coaching decisions.
  • Partner with HR leadership on complex, high-risk cases.
  • Interpret and apply HR policy to employee situations.
  • Own the administrative employee lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding.
  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment logistics for leadership and select roles.
  • Coordinate manager training logistics and materials on HR topics.
  • Lead HR projects such as policy rollouts, engagement surveys, and workforce planning.
  • Compile HR metrics into leadership-ready reporting.
  • Manage internship program end-to-end, including recruitment and rotation scheduling.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives including DEI programs and internal communications.
  • Maintain HRIS data and monthly audits.
  • Support talent management administration including succession planning and calibration.

Job description

  • Provide broad HR partnership across employee relations, performance management, recruitment, compensation, and talent management
  • Independently lead employee-relations meetings and cases end-to-end, including investigation interviews, documentation, corrective action and coaching decisions, and resolution
  • Partner with the HRVP/Director on complex, high-risk, or precedent-setting cases
  • Interpret and apply HR policy to employee situations
  • Own the administrative employee lifecycle for an assigned brand or client group, from onboarding through offboarding
  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment logistics for retail leadership and select corporate roles
  • Coordinate manager training logistics and materials on HR topics
  • Coordinate HR projects such as holiday policy rollouts, engagement survey action planning, and workforce planning exercises
  • Compile and organize HR metrics into leadership-ready reporting
  • Manage the internship program end-to-end, including recruitment, onboarding, rotation scheduling, mentor check-ins, and offboarding/conversion tracking
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives, including Years of Service recognition, DEI programs and communications, employee surveys, training, and internal newsletters
  • Manage internal communications, including newsletters, company updates, and announcements
  • Maintain HRIS data and HR shared folders, conducting monthly audits
  • Support talent management administration, including succession planning and performance calibration sessions
Requirements
  • 5-7+ years of progressive HR experience, including demonstrated independent ownership of employee relations, coaching conversations, and investigations
  • Retail or luxury retail/fashion experience strongly preferred
  • Comfort operating across multiple brands and North American markets (US/Canada/Mexico)
  • Solid working knowledge of HRIS systems, including Workday, ADP, and SuccessFactors
  • Strong administrative accuracy for case files and confidential documentation
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law across supported markets
  • Ability to independently apply HR policy and elevate complex or ambiguous matters appropriately
  • Skilled at accurately documenting sensitive or emotionally charged meetings and conversations
  • Microsoft Office 365 proficiency, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong presentation-building skills for leadership-facing materials
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience in employee-relations coaching and investigations work
  • Discretion and sound judgment with highly confidential information
  • Ability to independently lead sensitive meetings
  • Solid project leadership skills
