Job Description

Performs, processes, and supports Production Operations in various areas of the Plant such as Press Room, Roll Stand Tasks, Hugo Beck Operation, Folder/Gluer, Die Cutter, and/or Material Handling.

The role requires full commitment to excellence in OHSE and Quality. The goal is to protect and promote the environment, health and safety of all employees and the community.

Responsibilities
  • Receive product from Press, stack, and place on pallets.
  • Understand basic operation of Hugo Beck Bundling System (setup, troubleshoot, webbing, trash in knife, roll alignment, tightening or loosening bundles).
  • Pull product from press, stack, and place through bundling machines, retrieving bundled product and place on pallets. Print pallet labels with Pecas.
  • Ensure correct loading of product through bundling machine and onto pallets for material handling.
  • Review jobs for quality and accuracy; notify Operators of any problems.
  • Ensure finished product meets quality standards, accurately printed and free of errors; send samples to Quality Auditors as required.
  • Assist Operators when the press is down; clean press area, mopping all surfaces and disposal of used materials.
  • Fill solvent cans, tanks, and auto viscometers; help set-up cylinders for next job.
  • Assist in cutting rolls, making blades, and sorting as needed.
  • Maintain correct set-up and breakdown of doctor blades, disposing of used blades safely.
  • Assist in changing impression rollers, tab breaker sections, and coordinating with press operators.
  • Maintain and follow all company policies and procedures for OHSE, personal protection, and hazardous material handling.
  • Ensure consistent use of PPE and safe handling of hazardous materials.
  • Inspect work areas to maintain a safe and neat condition.
  • Prepare and mount rolls, operate splicing unit, record roll information, and split cores as applicable.
  • Perform tasks in Gluer GT and Forklift Driver roles as needed.
  • Maintain forklift operation and safety, including lift truck inspections.
  • Work effectively with Press Crew and other employees, communicating professionally.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by Department Leads, Shift Leads, Operators or Management.
Requirements

High School diploma (or GED), one to three years related production experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have very good mechanical and physical ability. Lift truck operators must have and maintain safety training for operation of all company equipment.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift to 60 lbs; prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing; manual dexterity required. Use of vision is required. Must be able to rotate shifts and be available to work more than 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week when necessary.
