Job summary

The role requires a high school diploma and completion of an accredited Surgical First Assistant program or equivalent, with 2 years of Surgical Tech experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical First Assist Program, State Board accredited Vocational School of Nursing, or Graduate of School of Surgical technology is required.
• 2 years of Surgical Tech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon under direct and indirect supervision during preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative duties.
• Help position the patient safely according to the surgeon's preference.
• Prepare patient and equipment, including Foley catheter placement, tourniquet application, placement of intravenous catheters, and other procedures as needed.
• Perform incision and layered closure of surgical sites, provide exposure, achieve hemostasis, and assist with devices/drains as directed.
• Assist in vein/graft harvesting and implant preparation as trained.
