Job summary

Christus Health is seeking a Full-Time Surgical First Assistant in Longview, TX. In this role, you will assist surgeons throughout the surgical process including preoperative, intraoperative, and post-operative duties. Key responsibilities include patient preparation, positioning, and performing various surgical tasks.

The ideal candidate must have a High School Diploma and be a graduate of an accredited Surgical First Assist Program, with at least 2 years of Surgical Tech experience preferred. BLS and Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical First Assist Program.
• 2 years of Surgical Tech experience preferred.
• BLS and Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and post-operative duties.
• Facilitate safe positioning of patients as per procedure.
• Prepare patients for surgery including IV placements and catheter insertion.
• Assist in various surgical tasks such as hemostasis and dissection.
