Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical First Assist Program, State Board accredited Vocational School of Nursing, or Graduate of School of Surgical technology required.
• 2 years of Surgical Tech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon under direct and indirect supervision throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative procedures.
• Position the patient safely according to the surgeon's preference and patient limits.
• Prepare the patient (Foley catheter, tourniquet, IVs, etc.) and assist using appropriate techniques.
• Perform incision, layered closure, exposure, hemostasis, and tissue handling as directed by the surgeon.
• Assist with implants, drains, and dressing materials as needed.
• Follow surgeon and hospital policies under supervision.
