Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for General Surgery 3W. You will apply the nursing process to deliver patient care, coordinate care with other departments, and safeguard patient rights and confidentiality.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, current RN license (state or compact), and BLS certification within 30 days. Minimum 2 years of patient care; Bachelor’s in nursing preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience.
• Supervisor experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments.
