Job summary

AMN Healthcare is seeking a General Surgery Physician for locum tenens coverage in the Phoenix area. The role involves a mix of outpatient clinic, operating room, and endoscopy coverage with substantial on-call responsibilities.

Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible and hold ACLS and BLS certifications. Licensure must be active and unrestricted, and experience with breast surgery is preferred. Start date ASAP and 45–60 days credentialing.

Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility required. ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Active unrestricted medical license in any state.
• Experience with general surgery including breast procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide general surgery coverage in outpatient clinic, operating room, or endoscopy.
• Participate in weekday, weekend, and 24-hour on-call schedules.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care.

This facility is seeking a General Surgery Physician for locum tenens support as they look to fill a current need.

Details and requirements for this opportunity:

Schedule: Variable weekday shifts, typically 10-hour shifts, for outpatient clinic, operating room, or endoscopy coverage (weekday, weekend, and 24-hour call is required)

Practice Setting: Mix of both inpatient and outpatient

Types of Cases: General surgery cases (provider must have experience with Breast Surgery)

Credentialing Timeframe: 45 – 60 days

Electronic Medical Record (EMR): RPMS

Certifications Required: Board Certified or Board Eligible, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and a Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Licensure Required: Any active unrestricted state license
