Job summary

AMN Healthcare is sourcing a General Surgery Physician for locum tenens support in Colorado. You will cover 24-hour call shifts on a mostly weekend schedule at a Trauma Level III facility, handling general and trauma surgery cases as part of inpatient services.

The role requires an active Colorado license (or IMLC), Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Surgery, and certs (BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS). Credentialing may take 45–60 days.

Qualifications

• Colorado license must be active; IMLC accepted.
• Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Surgery (within 3 years of training).
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications required.
• Epic EMR with voice recognition experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide general and trauma surgery on-call coverage.
• Support inpatient surgical teams as a Level III trauma center.
• Typically 12–14 days of 24-hour call per month, mainly weekends.
• Credentialing timeframe up to 45–60 days.

Education

Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Surgery (within 3 years of training)

Colorado medical license (active)

This facility is seeking a General Surgery Physician for locum tenens support as they look to fill a current need.

Details & requirements for this opportunity:

• Schedule: 12-14 days of 24-hour call c overage per month, mostly weekend (Thurday/Friday-Sunday/Monday) coverage will be needed.
• Job Setting:Inpatient, Trauma Level III, Adult/Geriatrics
• Types of Cases: Need to be comfortable taking general and trauma surgery call.
• Credentialing Timeframe: Up to 45-60 days
• License required: Must have an active Colorado license, but will accept Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
• Certifications required: Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Surgery ( Board Eligible with in 3 years of training), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
• EMR: Epic with voice recognition
