Job summary

AMN Healthcare seeks a General Surgery Physician for locum tenens support. StartDate ASAP with 24-hour call shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 am. The position involves a medical center setting handling cases such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, and colonoscopy.

Board-certified surgeons with an active Kentucky license are required. Credentialing takes 30–60 days; AMN arranges malpractice insurance and travel/lodging for contractors.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in General Surgery.
• Active Kentucky medical license.
• Locum tenens experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide general surgery coverage for 24-hour call shifts.
• Perform listed procedures including Appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, colonoscopy and Mediport placements.
• Coordinate with Medical Center on credentialing and availability.

• Types of Cases: Appendectomy, debridement of wound, burn, or infection, Hemorrhoidectomy, Inguinal hernia repairs, cholecystectomy, colonoscopy, incision and drainage, esophagogastroduodenoscopy, and Mediport (Port) Placement


• Credentialing Timeframe: 30 to 60 days


• Must be Board Certified


• Must have an active Kentucky license
