Job Details

• Seeking a per diem Physician Assistant to join the General Surgery team
• Duties include intra-operative assisting and comprehensive inpatient services
• Responsibilities include daily rounds and surgical consultations
• Emergency room assessments of surgical patients, admissions and discharges required
• Coverage includes general surgery and orthopedics with some operative assisting of other surgical specialties
• Setting: Inpatient, general surgery
• Schedule: Per diem, includes weekend and weekday coverage
• No call required
• Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients
• Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, including referrals to other health team members or specialists
• Provide appropriate treatment for problems within scope of practice and refer appropriately to physician when needed
• Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License required (or eligible)
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in general surgery required
• Dedicated support provided through the Office of Advanced Practice
