Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Clovis, NM seeks a full-time surgical clinician to support a full-scope general surgery practice. You will join a dedicated team with physician, APP, and RN support in OR and clinic and act as first assist in the OR.

Applicants may be NP or PA with required licensure, DEA, and relevant board certification. The role involves autonomous patient care, teaching, and collaborative practice in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in nursing with NP specialization.
  • State licensure as NP in New Mexico.
  • DEA license and ANCC certification.

Responsibilities

  • Performs history and physical assessments.
  • Manages acute and chronic conditions.
  • Orders, conducts and interprets diagnostic x-ray and lab tests.
  • Educates and counsels individuals, families and groups.
  • Works autonomously and with other health care providers.
  • Provides health maintenance activities.
  • Assists in surgery.
  • Acts as healthcare resource and patient advocate.
  • Administers preventative health care.
  • R rounds on inpatients.
  • Provides inpatient care as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Job Description
  • Performs history and physical assessments.
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions
  • Order, conduct and interpret appropriate diagnostic x-ray and lab tests
  • Involved in teaching and counseling individuals, families and groups
  • Work autonomously as well as collaborate with other health care providers as needed.
  • Performs health maintenance activities.
  • Assist in surgery
  • Serve as healthcare resources, interdisciplinary consultants and patient advocate
  • Administers preventative health care methods.
  • Periodic hospital rounding on inpatients.
  • Performs possible in-patient health care.
  • Performs other functions as required.
Minimum Requirements

For Nurse Practitioner: Masters degree in Nursing, New Mexico Nurse Practitioner license, federal and state DEA license and ANCC certification required. Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required.

For Physician Assistant: Baccalaureate prepared CAHEA Certified Physician Assistant or two (2) years working experience as a Certified Physician Assistant, and licensed by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners required. Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required.
