Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in New Mexico is seeking qualified Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants for an outpatient clinic role. The position involves history and physicals, managing acute and chronic conditions, ordering tests, and collaborating with a broader care team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Requirements include NM NP or PA licensure, DEA and ANCC (NP) or CAHEA PA credentials, with at least one year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Nurse Practitioner: Masters in Nursing with NM NP license, DEA license, ANCC certification.
  • Physician Assistant: CAHEA Certified PA or 2 years PA experience and NM Board license.

Responsibilities

  • Performs history and physical assessments.

  • Involved in teaching and counseling individuals, families and groups
  • Performs minor surgical procedures.
  • Work autonomously as well as collaborate with other health care providers as needed.

  • Assist in surgery
  • Serve as health care resources, interdisciplinary consultants and patient advocate
  • Administers preventative health care methods.
  • Periodic hospital rounding on inpatients.
  • Performs possible in-patient health care.
  • Performs other functions as required.

Additional Job Description:

The minimum requirements are as follows:
For Nurse Practitioner - Masters degree in Nursing, New Mexico Nurse Practitioner license, federal and state DEA license and ANCC certification required. Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required.
For Physician Assistant - Baccalaureate prepared CAHEA Certified Physician Assistant or two (2) years working experience as a Certified Physician Assistant, and licensed by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners required. Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required.
