Job summary

Inova Health General Surgery East Region in Fairfax is looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant 1 to join the team. This full-time, day-shift role supports patient flow, assists with examinations, and ensures accurate charting and prep for procedures in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and BLS certification within 6 months of hire; prior medical group practice experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• General patient care responsibilities are required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic knowledge of medical office procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs general patient care: blood pressure, height, weight, exam prep, assisting physicians and nurses.
• Supports patient flow and clerical tasks as needed (lab/x-ray notes, forms, chart preparation).
• Maintains sterile technique and safety in the exam rooms and with equipment.
