Inova Health General Surgery East Region in Fairfax is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant 1 for a full-time, day-shift role Monday through Friday.

The position supports patient flow, assists with exams, and handles both clinical and clerical tasks to ensure efficient clinic operations. Inova offers strong benefits, team health initiatives, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience in a medical group practice or similar setting.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of hire.
• Preferred: 1 year of clinical practice experience.

Responsabilités

• Performs general patient care including checking schedules, blood pressure, height and weight, and assisting during exams.
• Manages patient flow and helps prepare patients for examination and treatment.
• Assists with clerical tasks: medical records, labs, forms, and chart organization.
• Maintains sterile techniques, cleans rooms, restocks supplies, and ensures clinic safety.
• Participates in clinic huddles, quality improvement initiatives, and communicates issues timely.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
