Job summary
Inova Health Gastroenterology at ICPH in Fairfax is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant 2 for a full-time, day-shift role (Monday–Friday). You will help manage patient flow, perform essential clinical tasks, and support physicians and nurses to ensure efficient care delivery.
The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of clinical practice experience, and certification in Basic Life Support and CMA on start.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: 1 year of clinical practice experience.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) and Certified Medical Assistant on start.
Responsibilities
- Performs general patient care including checking schedules, patient flow, recording blood pressure, height and weight.
- Assists physicians and nurses, prepares patients for examination and treatment, and relays instructions to patients and families.
- Maintains medical records, orders lab/x-ray reports, and handles forms/requisitions as needed.
- Sets up instruments and equipment, cleans rooms, restocks supplies, and follows sterile techniques and universal precautions.
- Supports quality improvement initiatives and participates in clinic huddles as needed.
