Job summary

Adelphi Medical Staffing seeks a Board-certified General Surgeon for locum tenens coverage in Decatur, GA and the Atlanta area. Mon–Sun, 7a–7p on call; inpatient services; coverage Feb 01, 2027 – May 28, 2027.

Requirements: BC/BE, GA license, BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, ABLS. Epic EMR. Duties: on-call coverage, emergencies, surgical consultations, inpatient rounding, ED coordination. Travel, lodging and malpractice insurance provided by the agency.

Qualifications

• Board-certified/board-eligible in general surgery.
• GA medical license required.
• Proven ability to manage urgent surgical cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call coverage for general surgery services during assigned shifts (Mon–Sun, 7a–7p).
• Respond to emergency consultations and manage acute surgical conditions in the inpatient setting.
• Perform surgical consultations and coordinate care with ED and other specialists.
• Supervise and manage inpatient surgical patients, including post-operative care and rounding.
• Collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure timely and appropriate patient management.
