Job summary

VSL Civil Construction is seeking a General Superintendent to lead field operations across multiple heavy civil projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence. You will mentor superintendents and foremen, coordinating closely with Project Managers and Division leadership to align manpower, equipment, and production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 10–15+ years of heavy civil construction experience with progressive field leadership responsibility.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Extensive experience with structural concrete construction, reinforcing steel, concrete placement, and engineered formwork systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee field operations across multiple projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution.
• Provide direct leadership to Superintendents, Foremen, craft professionals, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, schedules, and production goals with Project Managers and Division Leadership.
• Support project planning, logistics, constructability reviews, and execution strategies.
• Identify productivity trends, resource constraints, and operational risks and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in hiring, workforce development, and succession planning for field leadership.
