The Business

Fabr Global has been exclusively retained to identify a Lead/General Superintendent for a highly established, vertically integrated heavy civil contractor. This is a business built on operational control and direct execution; they self-perform over 70% of their projects utilizing their own extensive equipment fleet and in-house personnel. This capability gives their field leadership the resources and autonomy needed to drive major projects without heavy reliance on subcontractors.

The Project & Role

This is a strategic, key hire for the business. You will step in to lead all field operations on a complex, $200m mission-critical project based in VA.

Core Responsibilities & Required Experience
  • Heavy Civil Expertise: A deep, proven background directing large-scale site preparation, heavy earthworks, paving, and asphalt crews.
  • Project Scale: Demonstrated experience leading field operations on high-value, complex site developments, specifically operating in the $100m+ range.
  • Team Leadership: Strong track record of managing, organizing, and mentoring multiple Superintendents (oversight of 4 Superintendents required for this specific project).
  • Self-Perform Environment: High proficiency in managing a vertically integrated, self-performing workforce and maximizing the efficiency of an internal equipment fleet.
  • Executive Reporting: Full accountability for field logistics, schedule adherence, and quality control, serving as the primary bridge between the site and the VP of Operations.
