Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for multiple Superintendents across several active construction projects.

Insight Global's client is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to oversee field operations across multiple large-scale commercial construction projects throughout the Hampton Roads region. This individual will serve as a senior field leader responsible for driving project execution, mentoring Superintendents, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading vertical commercial construction projects, managing multiple Superintendents simultaneously, and working on high-profile projects ranging from $10M-$50M+.

Provide leadership and oversight for multiple Superintendents across several active construction projects. Manage manpower planning, workforce allocation, and field productivity across projects. Conduct regular jobsite visits to ensure safety, quality, schedule, and company standards are consistently met. Mentor, coach, and develop Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and field personnel.

Review project schedules and proactively identify potential delays or operational challenges. Partner with Project Managers and Operations Leadership to drive successful project outcomes. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards. Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and workforce development initiatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, clients, inspectors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers. Support operational planning and forecasting efforts for upcoming projects.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years of commercial construction experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a General Superintendent overseeing multiple projects simultaneously. Experience directly managing and mentoring Superintendents and field leadership teams. Experience overseeing large-scale commercial vertical construction projects valued between $10M-$50M+.
• Experience managing field operations across multiple active job sites simultaneously. Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, manpower planning, and project execution. Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules. Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience coordinating with Project Managers, Operations Leadership, Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Subcontractors.

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience working for established commercial builders (regional/national contractors).
• OSHA 30 Certification. First Aid/CPR Certification.
• Experience with Procore, HCSS, or other construction management software.
• Experience with higher education, municipal, recreation, industrial, or specialty commercial projects.
