Job Description:

Manages large construction projects to ensure cost controls, schedules, quality, and safety requirements are met and that such projects are completed per design specifications and client requirements. Establishes project responsibilities matrices in partnership with leadership team including lower level/functional superintendents, craft foremen, project managers, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensures safety standards and regulations are followed and required reporting is completed. Reviews, negotiates, and approves change orders. Ensures that staffing, equipment, and materials are available for project completion according to established timelines. Develops and implements plans for project completion and turnover. For those with union projects and employees, reviews and approves the balance of forepersons, journeymen, and laborer’s composite labor rates. Engages with the firm's management, clients, and subcontractors in open communication regarding all areas of project completion. Advises concerned stakeholders regarding project status including, but not limited to construction challenges or delays, supply chain issues, and/or start-up issues. Partners with engineering, estimating, and planning team members to ensure work complies with firm standards and client requirements. Leads programs and processes to create and maintain strong client relationships with staff on job sites. Leads meetings with clients to conduct project planning and to resolve issues that arise during project completion. Provides technical advice and expertise during bid processes to acquire new projects or additional work to enhance current projects. Communicates contact information and guidance in qualifying potential clients or project pursuits to sales and marketing team members. Manages the day-to-day activity of staff. Provides feedback on performance appraisals. Manages the training and development of staff. Approves paid time off (PTO) requests and ensures human resources policies are followed. Serves as a mentor to junior superintendents, general foremen, and construction specialists/managers. For those supervising union employees – ensures that all performance evaluations are completed in a timely manner per union contracts, and reviews, approves and/or rejects promotions for union staff. Performs quality control inspections and reviews of plans and specifications for quality assurance. Pulls construction permits. Completes other project-related documentation including coding invoices for job costing, preparing project status and progress reports, and other project-related paperwork. Maintains all safety documentation completion and filing according to regulations and company policies. Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. 12 years of related experience with at least 6 of those years in construction management/supervision. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Possess one or more of the following skills: (Journeyman, T-7, T-6, T-5, H-4, H-3, H-2, and H-1).
  2. Electrical license – Current Journeyman or Master
  3. Has 6 years or more of previous electrical experience (commercial/industrial)

Job Site Location: Florida - Tampa

Amount of Travel Required: 20%

Assignment Category: Fulltime-Regular

Skills and Abilities:

Expert knowledge of construction disciplines, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, etc. Excellent ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering drawings. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Advanced Microsoft Office skills, and advanced ability to use construction-specific accounting or project management software. Advanced leadership capacity overseeing field crews (preferably those working on infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, dams, water/wastewater treatment plants, etc.) Excellent ability to identify and quickly troubleshoot problems and issues within a construction environment.
