Job summary

Trinity Health seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to perform comprehensive ultrasound studies across infant to geriatric patients, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient safety. You’ll educate patients, follow department protocols, and collaborate with clinical teams to optimize diagnostic accuracy.

The role emphasizes ARDMS eligibility/recertification, adherence to safety standards, and strong communication with patients and staff in a dynamic MercyOne Iowa setting.

Qualifications

• Registered with ARDMS (RDMS/RDCS/RVT/RMSKS) or board-eligible within 1 year of hire.
• Maintains active ARDMS registry with CME compliance.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire and every 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound procedures with correct positioning and appropriate factors across age groups.
• Conducts clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography exams.
• Educates patients about exams and obtains informed consent when necessary.
• Adheres to safety standards and uses proper protocols.
• Assesses patient prep and scanning protocol for each exam.
• Follows established Ultrasound Department protocols.
• Ensures safe patient handling during examinations.
• Operates 2D, M-mode, and Doppler units with correct transducers.
