Job summary

Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Lakeland region seeks a General Services Specialist to manage PPE, inventory, and vehicle operations across multiple sites. You will support emergency management tasks and ensure facilities are ready for staff daily needs.

The role requires a valid Florida driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a proactive, independent work style within a dynamic state agency environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have a valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must pass a level 2 background screening and clear MVR.
• Ability to work independently and follow directives.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain PPE and DSNAP inventory and distribution systems.
• Comply with CFOP 40-2 Vehicle Management and maintain state vehicles.
• Maintain the ERV (Emergency Response Vehicles & Trailers).
• Assist with day-to-day department moves and witness mail destruction weekly.
• Make keys for employees and manage a keycard log.
• Manage the keycard system for multiple sites.
• Dispose of surplus materials and furniture per CFOP 80-2.
• Supply furniture and desks; install whiteboards and corkboards region-wide.
• Ensure sites are prepared with hand dollies and proper tools.
• Assist IT with equipment moves during large relocations.
• Use appropriate hand dollies to move heavy items and follow safety rules.
• Verify facilities operate correctly (AC, lights) for staff comfort.
• Learn multiple areas, use GPS, and establish site contacts.
• Maintain a neat warehouse and process POs promptly for supplies.
