This position plays a critical role in supporting campus operations through event setup and breakdown, furniture moving and storage, building maintenance assistance, material deliveries, gutter cleaning, and other general services functions that contribute to a safe, efficient, and welcoming campus environment. Duties are performed independently and as part of a team.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEvent and Campus SupportSet up, arrange, and remove tables, chairs, staging, and other equipment for campus events, meetings, and special functions.Assist the Special Events Facilitator with the setup and breakdown of large campus events.Transport, load, unload, and assemble furniture and equipment as needed.Provide support for faculty, staff, student, and community events to ensure timely and successful event execution.Furniture, Storage, and Delivery OperationsReceive, verify, store, inventory, and distribute furniture, equipment, and supplies.Maintain organized storage areas and inventory records for furniture and related materials.Install, relocate, and remove furniture in residence halls, offices, classrooms, and other campus facilities.Operate light and medium-duty vehicles to transport materials, furniture, equipment, and supplies throughout campus.Assist with shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations to support Facilities Management activities.Deliver materials and supplies to campus departments in response to work order requests.Building and Grounds MaintenanceClean and maintain gutters, downspouts, rooftops, and other building areas by removing leaves, debris, and obstructions.Perform seasonal maintenance activities to help protect campus buildings and infrastructure.Support pest control activities and coordinate access for outside contractors and service providers as required.Provide assistance to the grounds crew with emergency response activities during inclement weather and other campus emergencies.Fleet and Equipment SupportMaintain and distribute annual vehicle registration and insurance documentation for fleet vehicles.Assist with minor vehicle service needs, including jump-starting vehicles when necessary.Operate forklifts, man lifts, and other equipment safely and efficiently after receiving appropriate training.Pick up parts, supplies, and materials needed by Facilities Management staff and trades personnel.Vendor and Operational SupportCoordinate with contracted vendors and service providers, including pest control, elevator maintenance, fire alarm service, and other contractors requiring campus access.Provide timely access to restricted areas when a college representative is required.Assist with mail, package, and material deliveries between campus locations and external facilities.Safety and ComplianceFollow all College safety policies, procedures, and training requirements.Utilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices at all times.Maintain a safe and professional work environment.Perform duties in a manner that supports the College's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.Marginal DutiesPerform trash and recycling support duties for Facilities Management shop areas.Assist other Facilities Management departments as workload and operational needs require.Perform additional duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.Experience in event setup, material handling, moving services, warehouse operations, facilities maintenance, or related work preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively with a team.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Strong customer service and communication skills.Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts, man lifts, and other equipment safely.Ability to interact professionally with students, faculty, staff, vendors, and visitors.Physical RequirementsAbility to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods.Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, and working at heights.Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing 50 pounds or more.Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.Mobility throughout campus is required.Essential Employee RequirementFacilities Management provides critical services necessary for the safety and operation of the College.
