Job Description

Compensation: $16-18.00

The General Service Technician is a blended role with both front and back shop responsibilities, including at least two days per week dedicated to front counter duties. This position involves performing routine vehicle repairs and maintenance according to company standards and manufacturer specifications, while effectively communicating vehicle issues and solutions to guests. Additionally, as a key holder and manager on duty (MOD) when needed, the General Service Technician plays a vital role in providing a superior guest experience, driving sales of automotive services and tires, and maintaining a welcoming in-store atmosphere.

Responsibilities

1. Perform basic vehicle services and repairs efficiently and accurately according to Monro standards.
2. Perform tire services including wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation, and TPMS service and repair.
3. Perform vehicle services such as lubrications, oil changes, basic maintenance (e.g., bulb, wiper blade, and filter replacements), battery testing, and installations.
4. Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
5. Assist in inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
6. Assist with store duties, ensuring cleanliness and guest readiness according to Monro standards.
7. Perform services in accordance with safety standards, including wheel torque, oil safety, and compliance procedures.
8. Test drive vehicles following Monro’s Road Test policy, using designated test routes and observing traffic and safety laws.
9. Adhere to company policies, governmental standards, environmental codes, and ANSI/OSHA standards.
10. Maintain technical knowledge through completing Monro University training courses and modules.
11. Operate and maintain all equipment safely, including lifts, welders, brake lathes, etc.
12. Assist management with guest care, work order completion, register assistance, facility maintenance, and outside purchase ordering.
13. Handle opening and closing responsibilities as a secondary key carrier.
14. Communicate effectively about all products and services offered to guests.
